 ...Skater boys.

Santa brought the boys a skateboard each this year.
I think we can safely say they like 'em.

Today we: Visited nana and had another lovely Christmas at her shiny new house/ ate turkey and stuffing sandwiches/ played with our presents/ posed with our presents/ wrote some thank you notes/ painted, doodled and read/ ate selection boxes/ and snuggled up with the kids on the sofa and watching some Christmas T.V.

....He's Been!
    He's Beeeeeeeeeeen!

Merry Chriiiiiiiiistmas!!

We've had an amazing day. Here's hoping you did too.
It began at 7am (not bad! might be a record..) when we had an excited Dylan jump into our bed, and we hung in there for a bit, until we heard Boo's sleepy sounding footsteps padding across the hall before we all went to investigate.

Seeing those little faces light up, watching the big wide eyes sweeping across the room, and That moment when they realise that their stockings are full of presents and that Santa's left snowy footprints on the mat. "And it's still COLD!!"
It just never gets old.

All our favorite people in the world, a sea of wrapping paper, a pile of presents, happy faces, a delicious christmas dinner, and chocolate for breakfast.
It just don't get better than that.

Here's hoping your Christmas was the very best.x

 ...Christmas Eve

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a....

Oh wait.
There is stirring.
There are two very excited small humans busily carrying out their Christmas rituals for Santa while simultaneously trying very hard not to spontaneously combust with excitement, and this year the boys have decided that every single reindeer shall have it's very own personalised carrot.
Oh yes. No reindeer will go hungry at Chez Reid this Christmas. We got that s**t covered. :)

I love this bit.
The reading of The Night Before Christmas, The sprinkling of Reindeer food, The bucket load of Carrots, The milk, the cookies, Tracking Santa, The excited "How-am-I-EVER-going-to-be-able-to-sleeeep"-ness....
WHO'S EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS???
ME-ME-ME-ME-ME!

Here's to the magic.
And here's to you Santa.
You know who you are :)

And, Sleep......

I went out on an emergency chocolate run to the sweetie shop with six kiddos this afternoon, (What?? It WAS an actual emergency) and on the way back home, I noticed that the sun was bursting out of our roof.
That almost never happens :)

...Wrapped.

Spent this morning standing on chairs and rummaging in cupboards, retrieving all the presents from their random hiding places dotted around the house and am now proud to say I'm finally all wrapped up and ready to roll. (If it's not Christmas Eve, then I'm amazingly organised woman of world)

Will still be finding random bits of sellotape attached to pieces of furniture/ jeans/ the bottom of my shoes/ next week, but we can't have it all...

Rewarded myself by eating a popping candy chocolate Orange (Oh. My.) and now all is right with the world.

So...Boo's fifth birthday is around the corner, and today was party day. :)
Cue one very excited small person bouncing off of every available surface, fifteen pairs of rather stylish bowling shoes, lots of cake and candles, a pile of exciting looking presents, a whole lot of bowling, some shiny gold medals, mini trophies, and more high fives than you can shake a stick at :)
Loved it. X
Happy party day Beautiful boy X

...It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas.

My lovely Mum has just moved into a shiny new bungalow, and today, with two small helpers in tow, we Christmas-ified her new house.
These lights featured heavily in the day as they took me about 2 days to untangle..  : )

...Hedgehog.

So today was the day of the Annual Reid family Christmas gathering, where the alcohol flowed and the present exchanging happened. Loveliness.

It was also the day we got to meet Snowball, Annie's South African hedgehog.
Now I am in love. And so are the boys.
We need a hedgehog in our lives.
(Now there's a sentence I didn't think I would ever say...)

...Barbie Angel.

There's NOTHIN' strange about having 1950's Wedding Barbie as the fairy on top of your Christmas tree. Even though the 3 boys in my house don't necessarily agree..
It's perfectly normal. Everyone knows that.
Move along, nothin' to see here. :)

..Superstar Innkeeper.

This little fella should be MASSIVELY proud of himself today.
And I am MASSIVELY proud of him.
Today, it was his turn to make his mama try to pretend she's "not-crying-at-all-actually" as I watched him ROCK the School Nativity.
So what we have here people, is only the finest innkeeper the world has ever seeeen.
Behold. :)

...Mama's little Angel.

Boo Reid ROCKED his school nativity today and turned his mama to moosh in her chair.
(Okay, moosh isn't technically a word, but it should be.)

Here's to you, Marys, Josephs, stars, camels, sheep, wise men, narrators, and donkeys everywhere.

And here's to you, emotional mamas and daddies who burst with pride and shed a quiet tear in the audience...

...Decorating.

The Beautiful Hairy Man & me spent the day with the ipod cranked up, singing with the best of 'em while precariously perched on ladders and stools brandishing rollers.  We succeeded in getting more paint on our faces/clothes/carpet than on the wall, and drank enough tea to feel like bonafide workmen.

Judging by the looks of our handiwork in the cold, hard, light of day, I don't think we'll have a future career in the painting and decorating trade.. O_o
Just as well, because I can no longer feel my arms.

Definitely hanging on to those day jobs ;)

...Christmas!

It's officially Christmas in our house today. Yay!
The decorations went up, the Christmas songs were blaring, two little boys ran around wearing santa hats, hanging baubles and stockings up and singing their little hearts out, I ate my first mince pie.... It's aalll about The Christmas. :)

I love rummaging through the decorations and finding ones that they made when they were 1, 2, 3, 4...(We're gonna make one every year until the tree falls down...)

Lets have a christmas song to celebrate.
LET'S.
