2/100 (100 strangers project)

Colin.

(2/100)

This is Colin.
He's a brilliant man who has a newspaper stand outside Camden underground station. I think he has a great face.
When I asked him if I could take his photo he said he thought I might break my camera, before saying yes.
His friend was standing nearby telling him to smile, but he said "No, no...that's not what they want these photographer types. You want seerious don't you? All moody."

Gotta love Colin.

They are especially camera shy aren't they??

Happy Weekend.

 ...Wild Horses.

We decided to blow away the cobwebs hangovers(!) with a big ol' walk through the fields today.
Kids loved it, and if they don't sleep well after this, then they will have confirmed my suspicions that it is IMPOSSIBLE to wear these small human beings out, no matter how many miles they walk, or how much fresh air their little lungs are filled with. :)

Clarks-the-shoe-shop didn't gave away stuff this cool when I was little. That's how they're rolling these days. Down with the kids.

Water-Fight!

Today was a little scorcher.
The sort of hot that turns a person into a walking lobster in 0.5 seconds.
The sort of hot that melts your ice creams before you've run home with them.
The sort of hot that insists that the make up you are wearing should slide off of your face with immediate effect.

...Dear Photograph,
Where do the years go?

Dear Photograph is a beautiful blog that asks that you 'take a picture of a picture from the past, in the present'. So you take an old snapshot, and go back to the exact spot that the photo was taken, and take a

 ...Vintage Tea Party.

To celebrate the 4th consecutive year of my turning 29, We decided a vintage tea party, with the loveliest people in the world, was just the thing to celebrate.

Originally, the plan was to hold it outside in the garden, but the rain thoughtfully suggested that we should probably have it indoors instead, so we did.. :)

Some magical fairies went to work in the morning, transforming the house into what can only be described as beautifulness, while I had a lovely girlie morning cutting my waist length hair into an asymmetrical bob, and clothes shopping with my Maman.
Those fairies rock.
There was pretty bunting, picnic blankets on the floor, mis-matched crockery, doilies, cream tea's, sandwiches, and the most beautiful cupcakes I have ever seen (Another magical fairy. Also ROCKS :)

We drank, we laughed, we swapped the tea for alcohol, we danced, we drank some more, we chatted, we ate, and we were definitely merry.

Roll on the 5th consecutive year of my turning 29. I can't bloody wait! :)

On this, the 4th anniversary of my 29th birthday(!) I am inspired by this photo (though clearly I am not hepburn-esque!) because I am completely smitten with the Breakfast At Tiffanys sleep mask my lovely mother-in-law bought me.

I cannot express to you how happy this mask makes me. LOVE IT!
I have been a very spoilt lady today and got the BEST presents EVER! I salute you present buyers!

Today involved: Lovely presents, brunch with friends, pretty flowers, more lovely presents, visits from friends and family, gorgeous cupcakes, some beautiful singing, and finally a relax with The Beautiful Hairy Man, A chinese take-away, and a dent in a bottle of wine.
Happy Birthday to me! :))

Wanna see what I got...? :)

... My Gruffalo.

I'm the proudest mama in the whole wide world today, after watching this little man of mine tread the boards in his Year 2 Leavers Show; 'Merry Hill Meets... The Gruffalo'.
It turned me to mush, watching him delivering his lines in his very bestest deepest gruffalo voice while

Sometimes, its good to smoke. Secretly. Hiding behind a lamppost. Because then you get shots you may not otherwise have got. Like this busy little hover fly fella. :)

...Worry Dolls.

One of Dylan's loveliest buddies bought him these Guatemalan worry dolls for his birthday and he LOVES em.
Say hello to Annie, Harry, Zoom Zoom, Buttercup, Rosie, and Fearless. Currently residing underneath Dylan's pillow and running away with his worries in the night.

'The legend says that when worrying keeps a person awake, he tells his worries to the worry dolls and puts them under his pillow. The dolls then take over the worrying for the person, who then sleeps peacefully through the night. When morning comes, The worries have gone.'

...The Big Ice Cream Van Hijack.

The school summer fair for us on this sun-shiny Saturday. Hoop-a-duck, lucky dip, hotdogs and chips, bouncy castles, aaaand.....
The loveliest ice cream van man of all ice cream van men, (lets call him Mr Mac) who happily let me take some photos of Dylan inside his van.
He pulled him right on up through that window without so much as a bat of the eyelid.
And he didn't even look at me like I had lost my mind when I asked him.
We heart him. (And pledge to buy our Ice creams from this van only, for the entire summer...)
Dylan made his very own 99 while he was there, which is pretty much the same thing as being King of The World.
